It is that time of year with Christmas around the corner and lots of activities filling our lives. December certainly has roared in like a lion with a lot of snow for the area. Maybe the forecasters were right that we are in for a lot of snow this year.
We are at the end of another year, and it is the beginning of another term for your Township Board.
In November we said goodbye to two of our long-serving members, Kathy Windiate (Clerk) and Alan Martel (Trustee). We will welcome our newest members, Mary Marchant (Clerk) and Andrew Graves (Trustee) at our December Board meeting.
We will be establishing the 2025-2026 Budget meeting schedule at the December Board meeting which will be held on December 17, 2024, at 7 PM.
The Townships’ newest Fire Tanker Truck arrived in November. Feel free to stop by the fire house and look at it.
NOVEMBER YTD 2024 PRELIMINARY FINANCIAL RESULTS
REVENUE $465,368 Below budget by ($105,750) and above prior year by $77,022
EXPENSES ($1,772,814) Higher than budget by ($163,821) and higher vs prior year by ($221,733)
NET ($1,307,446) Loss is higher than budget ($269,571) and higher than prior year ($144,711)
The key driver to the negative results was that we took delivery of our new fire truck in November when we budgeted and expected delivery in December. Also, the Township has always run negative cash flows for the months of April – November. Tax collections for the township began in December.
