I apologize that I did not get a letter out last month as a lot of my time was spent on putting together the Annual and Budget Meeting reports for the community. Speaking of those two meetings, we had a good turnout for the presentations, and the electors approved the salary increases for the elected officials. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank the citizens for their continued support. At the April meeting we will discuss the idea of creating a new Township Fund, General Recreation and Park Fund. This fund will be a one-year funding request and will be used to fund the Day Park and Nature Preserve as well as evaluating future expenses associated with the Nakwema bike trail.

MARCH 2026 YTD PRELIMINARY FINANCIAL RESULTS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2025-2026

REVENUE $2,771,823 Lower than prior year ($51,734) and lower than budget by ($75,388) 

EXPENSES ($2,709,463) Higher than prior year ($300,333) and higher vs budget by ($133,599) 

NET ($ 62,360) Loss is higher than the previous year ($352,066)* and budget ($208,989) **

*The Unfavorable variance to prior year of $352,000 was driven by payment for our new ambulance costing $339,000.

TOWNSHIP MEETINGS: PLEASE MONITOR THE WEBSITE FOR UPDATES

The Planning Commission will be meeting on February 11, 2026 at 7 PM. The ZBA has a case that will be heard on February 18 at 6 PM. Please monitor the website for any changes. The Regular TWP Board meeting will be held February 17, 2026, at 7 PM. All meetings will be live streamed and recorded.
