Board of Review meetings are statutorily-required meetings held twice each year (July and December).
The purpose of these meetings is to correct qualified errors involving property dimensions, size corrections, taxable status, errors by the property owner when submitting personal property statements, clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact. Taxable status may include principal residence and qualified agricultural property, exemptions from local school operating taxes, poverty exemptions for principal residences and federally-qualified health facilities which are totally exempt from property taxes.
Please note that property tax assessments cannot be heard or appealed at Board of Review meetings. These meetings are required specifically for the purpose of correcting and updating property tax records.
