Welcome
to
Happy New Year to our Torch Lake Township residents. I wanted to touch on a few items for this note. The township successfully transitioned to ZOOM meetings for the December board meeting and the feedback I received was positive. The Board, Planning Commission and ZBA will use ZOOM through March 2021 and that will include the Township’s Annual and Budget meetings as well. The planning commission is going to use ZOOM for their January meeting so those interested in attending make sure you watch the Township Web site for updates. The Board approved Mary Merchant to be an alternate on the Board of Review. In addition, the Board approved Jason Merchant as the Board’s representative to the Planning Commission. Bill Petersen will drive our capital/construction program in 2021 and serve as Deputy Supervisor. The Township has several projects that we will be allocating funds for in the coming budget for fiscal year 21/22. Bill will be preparing estimates for these projects and will prepare monthly status reports for the Board starting in January. The Board also approved the assignment and funding for Bob Spencer, who is volunteering his time, to provide a Policy and Procedure manual for the Board’s consideration by June 30th. The Township does not have a complete set to support the governance of the Township. Other items approved:
Our next Board meeting will be held on January 19th, 2021 at 7 PM via ZOOM. Watch for the meeting sign-in information to be posted on the website along with the Agenda and all documents associated with that will be discussed during the meetings.
